Nigel Phillips
Managing Director

I am extremely blessed to be in charge of a very capable and hard working team of employees.
Because the team is so capable it frees me up to visit some of our bigger customers. This takes up about 60% of my time.
I am also in charge of the marketing and advertising for the company, ably assisted by Kate.
These days quite a bit of time is spent receiving and sending e-mails from various sources, from customers to suppliers.
There are, of course, the inevitable in-house meetings where we plan for the future and discuss any current issues that need resolving as a team. I like to spend a bit of time with each member of staff when I am in the office, talking to them about any issues which may be worrying or interesting them. Many innovative ideas have come from such meetings.
I also talk to the Sales team each day to keep abreast of what is happening with our customers and to keep them informed of any new marketing developments.
Time is spent each day investigating possible new products, contacting new suppliers and negotiating new contracts.
Of course, I spend a great deal of time talking to various people in our mother company in Germany and I cover many thousands of air miles each year meeting new and existing clients.
And occasionally, I make the tea!
