Where It All Began

The company was founded in 1991 but its roots go as far back as the end of the 19th century when numerous health movements arose in Europe.

In 1899 Christians living near Hamburg, Germany, united to produce and sell healthy vegetarian foods, believing that the care of the whole person (body, mind and spirit) was of vital importance.

Based on their understanding of the Bible, they recognised that humans are responsible in the eyes of God for maintaining their physical health. This conviction soon led to the founding of De-Vau-Ge, an institution which belongs to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and which today has over 30 health food operations worldwide.

granoVita UK is part of the De-Vau-Ge Foundation, Lüneburg via the Bioherba GmbH. We still hold firm to the principles of our founding fathers, just simply applying them in a 21st century world. We also have sister companies – PrimaVita in Germany (www.prima-vita.com)  and granoVita Spain (www.granovita.com).
